Teaching a workshop in the place that I first fell in love with photography, was one of the most SURREAL things I’ve ever done!
Oh how well I can remember the summers spent on my grandparents’ farm in Virginia. There was one, very early on, when I got bored and took my parents’ digital camera outside….and didn’t come back in for HOURS. I didn’t know it, but something life-changing happened that day!
Everytime I come back there, I can still remember it so well.
Paige Cooley drove up from North Carolina for the workshop at my grandparents’ farm in Modest Town, VA and I had SUCH a great day with her! My throat hurt by the end, from talking so much! Explaining the ins and outs of my system, how I edit, the different companies I work with, etc.
Paige is one of the sweeeetest girls I have ever met and I can see that she definitely has the heart and talent for this business! I know nothing can stop her in achieving her dreams :)
Here are a few of the bio photos I took of Paige!
Then, come evening time, we had a demonstrative couples shoot planned. Tiffany and Stefan were driving from several hours away, to be our models. We had a location and outfits picked out…everything was looking good….until they arrived and it started RAINING.
Oh boy…here I am trying to teach Paige how I shoot and work with my clients….then get stuck with a crazy situation I’ve never worked in before!
Well, I like to think that in that moment “Roll with the punches/Improvise” instantly became a new chapter in my workshop handbook. We had no choice but to make it work!
And although it was very difficult, looking back now, I love that it rained and I love these images! So win win :)
Thanks to Tiffany and Stefan for toughing it out!
Thanks to my trusty/handsome sidekick, Andrew, for these fun behind-the-scenes photos!
I love that it rained! Totally made the photos awesomer :)
