A lot of people ask me, “So, when YOUR friends get married, do they pick you as a photographer or a bridesmaid?” Good question!
But not a question that applies to Summer. You see, we’ve been best friends since Kindergarten….and we sorted out this maid of honor thing a long time ago. I could be the number one photographer in the world and I still don’t think it would have affected her choice. Since the day Robert got down on one knee and asked Summer to marry him….I was honored to know where my place in the wedding would be. But hold on….let’s get back to the “Robert getting down on one knee” part!
I was a part of that too! Oh how could I forget that day when Robert and I surprised Summer, by setting up a shoot so that I could “test out a new lens”. Summer was quite shocked when he pulled the ring out….
So, back to the wedding! Since today is Summer’s birthday, I thought it would be the perfect day to share some of her wedding photos with you! I thought I would give you a fun little mix of the photos I took of Summer and Robert and then of course, some of me being a dutiful maid of honor!
Just because I was filling the shoes of maid of honor, didn’t mean I could completely leave the photography aspect alone…. Oh yes…from choosing two of my good friends to photograph the day, to scouting shooting locations, and even doing some shooting of my own on the day of!
I am happy to say that Megs Colleen and Krystal Michelle did a fabulous job of documenting the day! (Click on their names to see their full blog posts of the wedding)
Well, the following photo defines how the day started. Megs and I found the PERFECT spot for the portraits….but it was in the middle of the desert. We didn’t want Summer to drag her dress through a bunch of weeds, so I got a rake and went to work!
And now onto the photos I took! We started with a sweet first look, then headed to that fabulous location that we raked the path for….
Isn’t she just a STUNNING bride???
Thanks to Megs and Krystal for the rest of these photos!!! It was such a fun experience to be on the other side of the camera for a wedding!! :)
Here, I am putting on the necklace that I made for Summer. (I made the veil, too!) Like I said…I had a lot of roles in this wedding. Who says you can’t do it all?! ;)
Summer, thanks for giving me the honor of being your maid of honor and trusting me with the photography choices. It was the best day! I love you and Happy Birthday! xoxo
beautiful she reminds me of the singer in thompson sqaure.
