It’s rare these days, to hear about a couple getting married at 18 years old. It’s even more rare, when these teens have been together for almost 4 years and have been parents for 2 of them. I feel as if the bride, Amy, can tell their story best, so here is an excerpt of her story she shared on a blog a couple of months ago:
“It was the first day of my sophomore year in high school. I just turned 15 and I was ready to have another successful year of school with my boyfriend and friends. I have always been an honor roll student and I have always set strong goals for myself. That day, I found out I was pregnant, and my heart sank to the earth’s core. I wasn’t ready for this and wasn’t going to be for another 10 years! When I told my boyfriend, he denied it. 3 tests later, he finally accepted the fact that we were going to be teen parents at age 15.
I went to school the entire 9 months that I was pregnant, even with my morning sickness. At 28 weeks I went into pre-mature labor. After that, I went into labor every week. I was forced onto strict bed rest. On April 9th, 2011 I was in labor for 7 hours, naturally. Our son, Aydan, was finally born at 7:38pm at 6lbs and 18 inches long. 2 weeks after having our son, my dislocated hips finally regained strength and I went right back to school to finish off the year and I managed to get honor roll again.
Two years later we have a beautiful, smart boy and his mommy and daddy are graduating high school and showing teen parents that we never have to give up our dreams and God always has a plan for us! Now we are getting married after being together for almost 4 years and our son is the ring bearer.”
What these two have is so special. I’m not referring to their extraordinary strength and bravery, their young age, or their journey to parenthood. I’m only speaking of their LOVE. These are two individuals who love each other completely and undeniably. From the first time I met them, at their engagement session….I was blown away by their respect and adoration for each other. They understand love, like they’ve had it for 50 years. I wish I could find a way to put it into words, but instead, I hope the pictures can demonstrate this truly remarkable romance.
If you clicked play, on the video above, you are listening to Amy and Jordan’s first dance song. It couldn’t be more perfect for them….because they didn’t give up. Not on their son and the challenges that being parents would bring, not on their goals and their schooling, and especially not on each other.
WOW! Such an amazing love story! I really felt the love in these pictures.
Beautiful! <3
This is really very sweet. And for them to have that respect for one another at such a young age, is extraordinary. A beautiful family, indeed!
