There are no words to describe the incredible love and joy we are feeling. Andrew and I are so proud to announce the arrival of our perfect girl, Ireland Jade Roche. Ireland came into the world on September 9th, 2018 at 8 pounds 13 ounces and 21.5 inches long.
She was born via c-section after a failed induction. The birthing process was long and excruciating. Although the outcome was not what I had hoped for, I am so thankful that she is here and healthy. That is all that matters to me. Throughout my labor and delivery, I was so blessed to be supported by my amazing husband, family, friends, and our awesome doula/birth photographer. Our doula, Desiree, was a huge support in the months leading up to the big day. When it came time for the induction, Desiree spent nearly two days at the hospital with us. She helped me with pain management, relaxation, and captured the whole story beautifully. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the labor and birth.
Andrew talked to Ireland almost everyday in my belly and she would react to his voice. After she was born, he was the first to see her and touch her, while I was getting stitched up from my C-section. He later told me that when he walked up to her, she was crying and screaming but when he spoke to her she calmed down immediately. I would have never thought that could be captured photographically, until I saw this sequence of photos taken just seconds apart. These two already have an amazing bond!!!
Following a 3-day stay at the hospital, we got to bring our little beauty home on September 12th which ironically was our 2-year wedding anniversary! What a perfect way to celebrate it.
10 days after she made her appearance into the world, we took Ireland down to see the amazing Stevie Cruz. Stevie is a top newborn photographer in Orange County and works some serious magic with little babies. I don’t know how she does it! If you’re in Southern California and needing someone to capture your newborn, I cannot recommend her any higher! Here are some of our favorite shots from the session.
So far, Ireland has been a perfect and easy-going little baby. We are so in love with her and this new journey of parenthood. We are soaking up the next few weeks at home before I jump back into weddings. I am so excited to see how the future plays out as we navigate owning our businesses and raising our little love. Let the adventures begin!
