In November, I flew to Rio De Janeiro for this destination castle wedding. This was my first time traveling to South America – it was so beautiful! Andrew and I had the opportunity to stay for a week and we had such a blast.
Gablia and Ivan had the most magical fairytale wedding day + day-after session. I mean, their venue was a literal castle! Gablia and Ivan live in the U.S. but Ivan is originally from Brazil so the wedding was local for his family, but a fun adventure for Gablia’s friends and family.

Gablia’s bridal gown hung on the doorway of Castelo de Itaipava, makes the whole image feel like it’s straight out of a fairytale!
I think it’s safe to say that the award for the most fun bridal suite decor goes to Gablia! How amazing are the gold foil bride balloons?!
Gablia is very close to her nieces and presented each of them with a tiara on her wedding day, to be her little princesses.
The colorful florals made everything look so whimsical! Gablia and Ivan said ‘I do’ in this gorgeous floral-filled all-white setting with their closest friends and family.
Is this not the most romantic and swoon-worthy setting?! The draped greenery perfectly framed their ceremony venue at Castelo de Itaipava. Also, Gablia looked like a real-life princess walking down the aisle.
One of the sweetest moments from their special day was Gablia’s niece who teared up during their vows. 
After the ceremony, we headed out to the driveway in front of the castle for some epic photos.
Gablia and Ivan truly thought out every detail for their fairytale destination wedding. I couldn’t get over this elegant cake display!
The checkered floor, combined with the elegant crystal chandeliers makes for a luxe wedding reception!
This was my first time seeing a dance floor with built-in twinkle lights. I hope to see this at a lot more weddings because it adds such a magical touch to the reception!
We snuck away from the party, to capture some portraits with the interiors of the castle.
Day After Session
The day after the wedding, Gablia and Ivan got dressed up again for a post-wedding portrait session. This is something that I include with all of my destination wedding packages. I believe it is such a great opportunity to have a second day of shooting, to capture more of the destination that my couples chose to get married at.
Rio De Janeiro was filled with awe-worthy backdrops!
When you’ve traveled to such a gorgeous location like Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, one day of photos is not enough! I was so glad that we had time after their wedding day to capture them with even more of Brazil’s stunning scenery and this spot was one of my all-time favorites!
