{Personal} Madly in Love

I’ve spent a lot of time these last few weeks thinking about where I started.

Reminiscing on a few years ago when I first got my hands on a camera and how I haven’t put it down since….

It’s crazy to think of how far I’ve come. Really crazy. I’m sure any of you who have followed me from the get go can see that.

But as I have been thinking back on those days, it hasn’t been in a critical mind state…or even a proud one.

I’ve been thinking back on those days with a tiny twinge of envy.

No one tells you that when you choose to follow your passion as a career, how much LESS often you will actually get to perform that passion.

Sure, I get to shoot quite a bit. But I also get so swept up in the business aspect of this industry. The emails, the packaging, the branding, the finances, the contracts….

Don’t get me wrong. I am not complaining one bit. I feel so so SO incredibly blessed to do what I love for a living, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!!!

There were just a few too many lonely days working in my office that left me aching to get out and shoot with total and complete freedom!!!!

So I did :)

Yesterday, I got to do an amazing styled shoot with a few of my favorite girls. And I haven’t felt the same since.

It was without a doubt one of the most pivotal times in my career so far.

There were times while shooting when I was so filled with adrenaline that I was literally shaking with excitement. I actually had to stop and calm myself down!

If that’s not love, I don’t know what is! ;)

This shoot meant so much more to me than just a portfolio building day of shooting pretty pictures.

What it really did was get me to crawl out of my pile of “to-do’s” and get back to what I LOVE. Photography!

And really, I feel soooo incredibly refreshed.

Even today, as I got back to my grind and got back to editing, emails, etc…..I couldn’t wipe the smile off of my face.

Simply because I am head-over-heels-madly-in-love with what I do :)
