2011. You have been SO good to me!!!!
I was just reading over my recap blog post from 2010…..I had such high hopes for 2011, but I don’t think I EVER could have imagined how truly life changing it would be! It’s crazy how much can happen in one year. I still remember sitting at the computer this time last year and writing that post. I had NO clue what was to come and just how much God had planned for me for 2011. As I sit here in the same position now….I hope it’s the same situation. I’ve got big plans for 2012…but I know His are always bigger! So here’s to another year of working hard, chasing dreams, and succeeding :)
I want this post to be a time capsule. I don’t want to forget any part of what has truly been the biggest year for my business.
It’s gonna be a LONG post. But I am going to list of some of the accomplishments and victories 2011 has brought. Followed by a recap of photos from the year. And finally, some personal and behind the scenes photos from throughout the year that make me smile!
If you are one of the people in these photos…..THANK YOU. You have been a big part of making my year special!
2011 Highlights:
-I attended my first WPPI and enjoyed it SO much that I will do anything in my power to not miss another one!
-Truly discovered who I am in this business and created an online presence and branding that reflects it! I launched my new site and blog and the Kristen Booth brand in May and changed everything.
-I tried my hand at styled shoots….and LOVED IT!!!! My first one earlier this year was all planned out by me and carried out with only one vendor. My last one, in November, took place in Ireland with over 8 vendors.
-I started the Fantasy Series with Celeste Styling and Artistry and Patterns on Walls and shot 2 of the 6 shoots in the series.
– I began submitting to blogs and got my first few features.
-I built my little office (Okay I didn’t “build” it, hehe, but I had it painted, repaired, carpeted, and decorated) :)
-I traveled to Ireland in November, which marks my first overseas trip, first destination shooting, and first time chasing a HUGE and scary dream in my business.
-I continued to invest in and upgrade my equipment.
-I began blogging regularly. (This one is post #67 since launching this blog in May).
-I put my goals onto paper, and then onto the internet for the whole world to see, in my 101 in 1001.
-I did a wedding giveaway that gave me the chance to meet an amazing couple and give them a special gift of photography.
-Andrew and I did our first ever session together! With the amazing Desiree Shuey.
-I became involved in a group called Pursuit 31 where I’ve built friendships with so many amazing ladies!
-I made the decision to pursue some other hobbies/dreams of mine, on the side. (More info on that, coming soon!)
-I learned more than ever before, to NOT be afraid to dream…and act on these dreams! Dreaming big did no harm to me this year. But instead, opened so many doors and had me wondering why I was afraid in the first place.
And to close this out…some personal & behind the scenes :)
WOW, your photos are incredible. Your lighting is sooooo pretty. Great job!
