In April, I spent 11 days on the East Coast, shooting, teaching workshops, and vacationing! I had the time of my life and cannot wait to return.
You can see my blog posts of the workshops and couple’s shoots here:
Williamsburg Virginia Anniversary Shoot
While I didn’t take quite as many vacation photos as I would of liked (due to being so busy!), I would like to share the ones I did get! Hence this fun post with all of my tourist photos ;)
Partway through our DC visit, my cousin Chad came to visit! Chad is also a photographer, check out his site HERE. Chad brought a whole new level of entertainment to the trip. Because really, who else would do the “shake face” over and over for five minutes, just for me to take pictures of? {Example below}
While in Virginia, we visited my grandparents’ farm. This is a place I have always loved! As I’ve gotten older, I can appreciate my grandpa’s decoy carving so much more. (I’m not the only artist in the family!). When I walked in his workshop one evening, the lighting was JUST right…I knew I had to photograph it. I even secretly snapped some of him while he was telling Andrew stories.
Andrew snapped this photo, below. So proud! :)
I really enjoy photographing every dog I see……
And I will end with Chad….being weird again. Only seems appropriate ;)
Love these! Especially the night shot of New York (#20). I wouldn’t mind having it canvas wrapped. Amazing as always! Your cityscapes would make great post cards! Thanks for taking time out of your trip mentoring me, and taking my bio photos! Seriously one of the most exciting and helpful things for my photography career so far.
Bahaha! OMG, I love these photos….that’s it I’m soo coming out west! Tomorrow!
The pictures of Pop are incredible…I love them!
Geez Kristen, I knew you were a great wedding photographer but those pictures of your grandpa and his shop are truly remarkable.
Love all the BTS photos. My favorites are definitely the ones you took of your grandfather & his studio though. Those are so special, I’m sure your family will treasure those! :)
Amazing! Makes me want to travel to the East Coast for sure! Your photos are so inspiring! :)
